Surrounded by beautiful examples of Valencian Art Nouveau just a stone’s throw away from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento lies La Manera, a laid-back establishment that boasts good cocktails, coffee and food. Hungry after a day of walking around the city centre, we pop inside and are quickly seen to by attentive staff, starting with a good strong coffee to perk up and get ready for food.

In the mood for sharing, our party orders a mish-mash of tapas dishes and mains from the menu, including the essential croquetas and patatas bravas, and one of the best meat and cheese platters we had during our time in Valencia. For mains, we go for pulled pork jacket potatoes and one of their many high-quality sandwiches. What really impressed me about the restaurant was that it catered for a wide range of dietary requirements, from gluten free to low carb, welcoming all hungry guests indiscriminately.

The price was reasonable, considering its location, and La Manera comes recommended for those looking for a laid-back and accommodating place to eat in Valencia’s city centre.
